Next New

In terms of new types of new media that do not exist, one of them would be augmented reality and social networking. Augmented reality systems that can create or detail information in real-time do exist in some form such as with the Microsoft Hololens. However, there has yet to be a social media application attached to it. It could display real-time information on locations, stating things that you could find with google searches such as reviews and activity. In terms of social interaction, augmented reality could enable leisurely activities not done before or better information on people. Another kind of new media is full artificial intelligence (AI). Programs such as Amazon Alexa, Apple's Siri, and Google's Assistant are rather limited in what they can achieve since they use preset commands. Full AI can help people achieve things such as advice or doing tasks simultaneously with a user.

  2. I can see this new form of media exist relatively soon. The idea of seeing online activities based on real-time is something that a lot of large corporations are doing with credit cards. Soon, the idea of real-time movements will seep into other areas of social life. It would be interesting to see how all those technological advancements would enhance media.

  3. I found the augmented reality mix with social media extremely interesting. Also, what if you can facetime with augmented reality so you can see eachother right next to you instead of on your phone. I am curious if we can see an innovation like this within the next ten years.

  4. That was a great idea of having that augmented reality system. Since VR has invented and bring people more close to the mix of technology and reality. So I believed one day it may has something like you said about the system. I would like to see social media or something that we usually do through phone but later through our own eyes.
